WELCOME TO VERSAILLES!
We have a few rules for everyone to follow. They are for your benefit and ours, and help keep this place awesome. Please take the time to read and follow them!

I Activity on your part is expected once you join. If you know you are going to be absent, please let us know. If your characters become inactive, you will be warned, and eventually deleted if you are not responding. First word is puffy
II Expect activity checks. Failure to respond to an activity check will result in deletion of your character's account. Your character's profile will go in the archives. *If you join when an AC is going on, you don't need to respond until the next one.
III ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS use spell check and if you have it, use a word program to check your grammar. *C-box is an exception, the second word is bourgeois.
IV You can have as many characters as you wish, as long as you keep them all active.you also need to be VERY aware of the male-female ratio, and the canon ratio. We want to have an even m-f ration. example: 2 females to 1 male. For canons, every other you pick up must be a male, to prevent every plotted or non-plotted canon female from being taken by two or three members. If your first canon is a female, the next must be a male, and so on. You are allowed three canons to begin with, after which you must recieve permission from a staff member for your next.
V Signatures should not exceed 500px by 300px. We have some great artists here to help you out with your signature if you can't make one yourself.
VI Do not steal someone else's work, whether it be graphics or writing or whatever. Ask for permission to use it and leave proper credit.
VII Don't fight with other members in the c-box, and PLEASE don't spam. ever. It's gross.
VIII SEX, VIOLENCE, SWEARING?? WE'VE GOT 'EM. Put an [X] or [R] in the thread title when needed. (this isn't a porn site, so don't make everything about detailed, nasty sex, kay?)
IX You must pm an admin for permission to have your character get pregnant.
X Check the names of other characters before naming your own so we don't have fifty characters with the same name running around.
XI Each character must have their own account. Twins can be an exception, but only under the condition that they are always in the same thread together, no matter what.
XII The final word you will need for part of your application is faces.
XIII NO god-moding or powerplaying. duh.
XIV This site is "realistic", meaning *no* magic or technology created after 1751. Go to wikipedia if you are unsure about certain items that you want to mention in your posts.
XV The subject line of your profile needs to follow this format: LAST NAME, first and optional middle, no exception.
XVI Check the adoption board and the needed characters thread before making a character and see if you'd be willing to help someone out.
